Unzip Shockmag_package.zip file and you'll get the five folders:
Browse WordPress folder and find Shockmag_v.1.0.zip file.
Open your WordPress admin panel and go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme page for uploading Shockmag_v.1.0.zip file. (NOT Shockmag_package.zip file)
Once the theme is uploaded, you will be prompted to activate that. Do it immediately or later at Appearance > Themes page.
Once the theme is activated you'll be prompted to install recommended plugins.
Begin installing the plugins one by one.
Okay, let's to continue the installation.
Go to the Settings > Permalinks page and update settings. The Post name structure is recommended.
Settings > BuddyPress
WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display
Fill all fields on Users > Your Profile page.
Yoast SEO plugin required and comes in list of recommended plugins on Step #5).
As you can see the theme has a few versions of demo, and you might be interested with re-producing some of that.
We've created the step by step manuals for each demo.
If you're WordPress beginner then you might be interested with starting from some base such as dummy content. With such option you'll can learn how the content has been created.
NOTE: Before the importing of dummy content you have to make all the steps of Theme Installation (See above). Otherwise the process will not be finished.
Go to Tools > Import page and install WordPress Importer.
Upload the whole-content.xml file you can find in Shockmag_package/Dummy/ folder.
NOTE: There are possible a some alerts while importing process. You can ignore that.
Once the dummy data is uploaded, you should go to Appearance > Menus page and attach menus to related theme location: Primary to Primary, and Secondary to Secondary.
Select one of available frontpages and preferable number of posts on blogroll.
Go to the Settings > Permalinks page and update settings. The Post name structure is recommended.
Prepare a transparent PNG file with normal aspect ratio using some graphic editor.
Upload it on your Media library, and copy the file URL.
Drop the URL on Theme Panel > General tab.
The color scheme of theme is based on two colors: Primary and Secondary. There is possible to pick own colors from within Theme Panel > Style > General tab.
An experienced site owners can drop a custom CSS on Theme Panel > Style > Custom tab.
ST Kit allows to set custom fonts e.g. you can pick any font from Google Fonts library and use on your site. There is possible to set up to two font on your site.
An experienced site owners can set up to two custom fonts and apply that on selected HTML-tags.
ST Kit framework comes with shortcode inserter thus you can create a shortcodes directly from within WordPress Visual editor. But an experienced site owners prefer to have a full control over their content using WordPress Text editor. In this case the shortcodes can be inserted manually.
