During installation you can have some errors. Here the most popular errors you can get:
Error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ]"
Solution: you need to change the PHP version on your hosting. Minimal version 5.4. You can change it in the PHP settings of your hosting.The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet
Solution: you've forgotten to unzip the main archive. It consist: theme, license, offline documentation and demo content.«Are You Sure You Want to Do This?»
Solution: you need to increase your PHP parameter upload_max_filesize to 256M. You can change it in the PHP settings of your hosting."Error Execution Failed"
Solution: you need to increase the PHP parameter: max_execution_time to 400-600 sec. You can change in the PHP settings of your hosting.
When you first install the theme you'll see the Wizard guide installation.It will help you to install theme easy.Please follow these steps:
If you skip the Wizard setup or after the demo content installation your theme is deactivated - you need to activate your theme license.
Please go to the Novo Dashboard and insert your purchase code in the field and click "Activate". Your purchase code you can find HERE
In some reasons you can have problems with the Novo Theme activation:
1) "Purchase code is wrong" - check that you activate the main theme (not the child). After go Theme Options->License, insert you purchase code (check that it hasn't spaces after (you can mistake copy it with)), click "Save" and wait 5-7 sec. After that, click "Register the code". Some servers have delay and waiting 5-7 sec. solve this problem.
2) "Something wrong, please try later" - you need to try to activate it later. If it won't help - the problem in incoming and outcoming queries from your hosting. The firewall on your hosting blocks it and our license system can't check your purchase code and send the status. In this situation you need to contact your hosting support to allow incoming and outcoming queries from the domain promo-theme.com.
Notice: YOU NEED TO ACTIVATE YOUR THEME BEFORE THE DEMO CONTENT INSTALLATION

NOTICE: After the demo content installation you need to reactivate your Theme license because it can be rewritten by the demo content.
After installing the demo content, you need to generate thumbnail images

Ok, so far we have installed the theme, we have installed the plugins and imported the demo data, whats next?
The final step in getting your new theme setup and ready for you to edit as you wish is to setup your home page and menu. To begin, head to Settings > Reading, here you will need to set your Front Page.
By default WP is set to show your latest posts, however to make your theme just like our demo you should select a static front page from the pages provided in the demo data.

Sometimes after Categories or Portfolio items deleting you can get this error (White Screen or "Formatting error")
This error says about NULL link which is stayed in the "Banner" shortcode after Categories or Portfolio items deleting.
Solution: go to the Front page, click on the banner shortcode and click "Save"
To create a new post, navigate to Posts > Add New from your WordPress admin panel.

In the text field, near the top of the screen, enter a title of your post. Also, you can add a short description in the end of the title.
On the right side of the screen you will see a section named Categories. Here you can select the categories that you would like to add this post to. If you would like to create a new category, click on the + Add New Category link. A text field will appear in which you can enter a category name, and then click Add New Category.

On the right side of the screen you will see a section named Post settings. where you can enter your video URL (YouTube, Vimeo, your own .mp4), and section named Featured Image, where you can set featured image for your post.

To creat a new category, navigate to Posts > Categories from your WordPress admin panel. Here you can add name, slug, parent category, description and image of your category and then click Add New Category in the end of the title.

To create a new portfolio item you should navigate to Portfolio > Add new from your WordPress admin panel.

Enter a title for your portfolio item in the text field near the top of the page.
On the right side of the screen you will see a section named Portfolio Categories. Here you can select the categories that you would like to add this portfolio item to or you can create a new category, click on the + Add New Category link.

Under the Portfolio Categories section are the Project settings, Gallery and Project Cover Image sections.
In the Project settings section you can choose the style of your portfolio. It can be:
- Default - Select this template if you would like to create a standard page with your content inside the grid.
- Grid - Set a predefined size for the space between the content layout and the sidebar layout for this page.
- Slider - if you wish to have a slider on the top of your page, copy and paste the slider shortcode here.
- Masonry - Select this template to display a list of your blog posts on the page. The blog list will be displayed in a Masonry type grid.
- Horizontal - Select this template to display a list of your blog posts on this page. The blog list will be displayed in the Standard layout (post info text located underneath the featured image).
Also, in the Project settings section you can choose a type of your Project Image, which can be Default, Full or Adaptive, and you can enter your video URL (YouTube, Vimeo, your own .mp4) in Video url section.

In the Gallery section you can set gallery images in two ways. The first is to upload files by simply dragging or selecting files. The second is choosing images from media library.
Then click the Add to gallery button.

In the Project Cover Image section, you can set an image to be displayed for this item on portfolio lists the same way like you did in Gallery section.
To creat a new category, navigate to Portfolio > Categories from your WordPress admin panel. Here you can add name, slug, parent category, description and image of your category and then click Add New Category in the end of the title.

To change settings of your portfolio, navigate to Pages > All pages from your WordPress admin panel.
On the right side of the screen you will see a section named Portfolio. Here you can select different settings if it is necessary.

Page Attributes
When creating a new page, one of the first things you will probably want to do is to choose an appropriate template for your page. To this, create a new page by going to Pages > Add new, and locate the Page Attributes section on the right side of the screen. It comes with a variety of page templates to choose from: Landing Page, Coming soon Page, Default Template.

- Landing Page - Select this template to create a page with a single focused objective.
- Coming Soon Page - Choose this template to create a page with no header or footer.
- Default Template - Select this template if you would like to create a standard page with your content inside the grid.
To start adding elements to your page, you can click on the Add Element button.

Finally, click the Publish button in the upper right section of the page. (If you made some changes on an already published page, you will see an Update button instead).

Set the base color of your theme for certain page. It can be default / light / dark.
- Header color mode
Here you can choose a header style to be applied to the header on this page. The "Light" header style displays white navigation text and the "Light" logo version, while the "Dark" header style displays black navigation text and the "Dark" logo version, "Default" If you wish to use the default colors and logo.
- Header style
Choose a header type to use on this certain page. It can be default /side / logo left / logo centered.
