You should go to Appearance > Install Plugins and Install/Activate all required plugins:
The only optional plugin for this theme is "Envato WordPress Toolkit" which allows you to get updates for Calcium theme.
After you install and activate all the required plugins, then continue to the below section with "Theme Configuration".
After you install the theme immediately an alert message appears on the top of the page saying that the theme was successfully installed in your site. Here you have the main theme configuration options, on the left you have the theme sections and on the right side is the content fields. Every option is well described and is easy to customize. For more detailed information on each option you will find below on this documentation.
By default, Calcium theme uses "Latest Posts" or "Static Page" as frontpage. If you want to enable the default style homepage for Calcium please go to: Appearance > Theme Options (see the image below)

And your homepage will be organized into Layout Blocks.
As you might have seen that Calcium is WPML compatible, so in order to make this theme work with it you should do the following Plugins:
These plugins are "premium plugins" and can be purchased in www.wpml.org
After you activate both of them, if you want to translate theme strings, you must activate WMPL string translation, so go to: WPML > Themes and plugins localization and set Translate by WPML and click save.
After it, you go to: WPML > String Translation and filter results by this Context:
Then for each string/entry click "translation" and apply the translations based on the language you offer.
In the admin sidebar, current language will appear, so always make sure which language you are posting content. Then continue with their own translations in other languages.
There are two types of showing language links for Calcium theme:
1. Widget area - to activate this widget go to WPML > Languages > Language switcher options and select widget "Main sidebar"
2. Bottom of the site (footer) - to activate footer language links go to WPML > Languages > Language switcher options and check the "Show language switcher in footer" box.

Select "Image" option in "Format" metabox. Then in the first line add your preferred image from "Add media" button. The difference for this post format is that image will not we resized, or cropped, it will remain in the same format in the post. So you don't need to add "featured image" for this post type, it will use the first image by default.
Select "Gallery" option in "Format" metabox and then click "Add media button", after the modal box appears click "Create Gallery" and then select the photos:
After you select the photos click Update/Insert Gallery, and the editor will have shortcode with the selected image. Remember that gallery shortcode should be placed in the first line of text.
